This was a very cold day Training in O’Chiese First Nation, but the trainees were eager to learn. I remember the icicle on my moustache banging my lip as I gave the training!
Murphy has a Degree in Education and Million BDFT Club Award

Only about one sawmiller in 40 is given this award.
Very few educators / trainers will have as much practical sawmill experience; and very few trainers will have an education degree as well.
Murphy has been giving trainings since 2011, and has travelled to NWT, Yukon, Alberta, California and his native BC. Workshops have been given in remote and Fly-In First Nation Communities.
His million board foot award was earned the difficult way, travelling to peoples sites and cutting their logs into lumber for them. He has been in many difficult setups, and this gives him experience to better share with communities today!
